TORMA OFFERING by Thakchoe, 1996

A torma is a ‘ritual cake’, where a dough of barley flour and water is made into different shapes for offering to the deities. In this self-portrait, Thakchoe is dressed in his best traditional Tibetan clothes as he performs a ritual to appease or ask favor from the spirits.
